Lecture - How human creates the land

in cooperation with the protestant forum Kassel

How human creates the land

The image of landscape was never an illustration, but always an expression of an ideological understanding of nature and society. "Subdue the earth." (Genesis 1:28) From the Middle Ages to the present day, this has led to artistic designs, identifications and projections, to the use of landscape as a stage or idea of an ideal world, as a longing for security or as a fear of the violence of natural forces as the incomprehensible.

Bernhard Balkenhol

The lecture is part of the exhibition "Caring in Times of Continuous Crisis (Part II)" in cooperation with the Protestant Forum Kassel.
